Menards

My Mother went to Menards to buy a lawn mower. She brought it home and I put oil and gas in it and tried to start it. The Mower did not start. We brought it back to Menards and the store refused to take it back, fix it, exchange it or give an merchandise credit. They said that they do not take back any items that have once had gas in them. That leaves a person wondering how you know if a gas operated item works without putting gas in it. So... the manager gave us a number of a company that was supposed to take care of all the manufacturers warranty work. We called and the company actually said that they wished Menards would stop giving out their number because most of the manufacturers that menards carries will not cover repairs on even brand new items. I called Menards corporate office only to be told that I have to send in a written letter describing the problem. I got back a letter giving me the same repair number that wouldn't repair it in the first place. I strongly caution anyone who is looking to buy any items that require gas or oil from menards.
